Subject: Those Handicapped people are so happy go-lucky!
Another (see All Out For Victory for more of this) film that demonstrates how companies, because of the war, were looking to use handicapped people for low menial jobs (the bench seems to be popular). A lot of these people had happy demeanors and we learn that the deaf people have happy dispositions and willingness to co-operate. I suppose this was all used to fight the useless label that some people had towards these people at this time. Having said that, it IS encouraging to see all these people hard at work. Nice of Caterpillar to give these people something to do. That is, until the men got back, and they could go back to being useless.

Subject: Against odds, indeed
Caterpillar Tractor Co. presents this WWII-era story of their program to hire handicapped workers. There's an overview of how the program works, followed by brief bios of about 20 men. They are respectfully presented as outstanding workers with excellent attitudes, who ask no special favors, just the chance to contribute. No camp/humor value here, just a genuinely inspiring little film.
